The universe is big. It’s vast and complicated and ridiculous. And sometimes, very rarely, impossible things just happen and we call them miracles.
Character Name: The 12th Doctor
Gender: Male
Age: Over a 1000 or so, he’s lost count, really
Species: Time Lord
Group(s): Rouge Time Lord
Some people live more in 20 years than others do in 80. It’s not the time that matters, it’s the person.
Strengths: Intelligent, Strong Willed, Assertive, Kind to those who deserve his kindness
Weaknesses: Innocent People, A bit grouchy, Arrogant, Quite Dark
Likes: Bacon, His Companions, “Magic” Tricks, Exploring Time and Space, Teaching people of history and the future
Dislikes: Arrogance, Those who will hurt innocent people, Those who will use his friend against him, Those who ignore the pain of others because of some reason like “we’re just doing our job”, Losing those he loves and cares about.
Overall:
Twelve is a lot like many of his predecessors, with the darkness of each and every one of his previous selves especially that which is contained in those after the Time War, and the love of humans like all of his previous selves. He is less flamboyantly exuberant like his last two selves were; though he may express excitement in a more subdued way, he is not less excited. He doesn’t jump around the TARDIS quite as much as his previous selves did, though he may have a little fun with it. He inherited the grouchiness of his first self in the later years, along with a bit of the stuck up’ness from his first and sixth self.
Let’s talk more general and less comparatively about Twelve. He is a very harsh sort of man, who will not sugar coat an explanation or description, and those who do are annoying to him. He is brutally honest and will call out the flaws in others, and even in himself. This may give off an aura of grumpiness and uncaring. However, while he may seem grumpy and uncaring, really, he’s neither, unless someone is annoying him or said person has threatened innocent people. He can get pretty darn cruel if someone makes him angry. But otherwise, even though he may seem grumpy or uncaring, he is usually quite happy and very caring.
Over the years he has lost so many people, but he can’t help but care, and fall in love with those he meets, especially if they are strong, and determined, and brave, and defend the innocents and others, reflecting his own values. He has two hearts, which makes it easier to love, whether or not romantically, and the fall harder when they leave, or die, or get trapped in a computer, or whatever else tends to happen to them. But at the same time, he would prefer the pain of loss than the pain of being alone. He knows loneliness better than most people, and when alone, he tends to go too far and not know when to stop. His friends tend to help rein him in when he goes a little too far, or threatening to go a little too far, or do something he would regret.
In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important.
History: Let’s see, a brief history, eh?
He was born, not loomed, like many of the other time lords on Gallifrey, which led to a resentment towards him, a bullying by the other boys and girls. The only Gallifreyan that wasn’t mean to him was the young Master. The two boys became the best of friends pretty quickly, the others rejecting The Master because he was regarded as crazy and heard drums in his head. However, when the boys went to the University, and The Doctor was dubbed Theta Sigma, the two began to drift apart and eventually, The Master grew to want to kill him after many, many years.
The Doctor would travel with his granddaughter who had a big interest in Earth, and The Doctor allowed her to study on Earth after being outcasted by their own people… and he sort of stole a TARDIS, so.... There he picked up two human teachers and traveled around time and space until he locked his granddaughter out of his TARDIS and then the teachers would eventually leave him as well. That was where his love for Earth came from, his granddaughter’s curiosity for the world and those two teachers.
Years, centuries and such passed, and he was recalled to Gallifrey for a war. He didn’t go for a while, until he died and the Sisterhood revived him and he became a warrior. He would eventually (or so he thought) destroy all the Daleks and Gallifrey itself. After that, he regenerated and grew depressed. Then he met a girl named Rose Tyler. And things got brighter. Anyways, years passed again, and then he was in his last regeneration and found that he HAD saved Gallifrey, but due to synched timelines he didn’t remember it until that last self. Then he found himself on Trenzalore where he fought, sent his companion away, and eventually regenerated due to old age, even though it was his last regeneration, thanks to a gift from the Time Lords, and became this him.
Some people live more in 20 years than others do in 80. It’s not the time that matters, it’s the person.
